Marie and Frederic

Destination wedding in Portugal Wild Romantic style

Marie & Frederick's destination wedding in Portugal was set at Senhora da Guia Cascais Boutique Hotel. The beautiful French-American couple of architects chose this venue for a special reason: a year ago, during a romantic getaway, Frederick proposed Marie in that hotel.

Currently living in Antwerp, Belgium, where they run an International Architecture Studio, the couple invited guests from various places in Europe, Asia and North America, so Cascais, Portugal was the perfect place for an international wedding. Only half an hour away from the airport, so it would be easy and convenient to get everyone to the hotel for the wedding celebration.

Studio Victorias planed the event, and along with the couple, with strong aesthetic sense and sharp taste, created a majestic inspirational mood revolving from mauve to crimson hues, and classic romantic details. They've called it "Mauvellous" - a mixture between a marvellous location and a rich mauve palette.

The inspiration had several different expressions throughout the day. From the flowing silk robe to the pretty little purple velvet ring box. From the embroidered bridal cape to the rich calligraphic stationery. All elements which complemented each other and concurred to the overall grand effect.

Senhora da Guia Cascais Boutique Hotel is a small charming, recently renovated five-star hotel set by the Atlantic Ocean on the stunning Lisboa's Coast, in Cascais. Run by a well-trained team who is committed to honoring every guest's desire and specialized in planning small and intimate gatherings like this mini-wedding. A privileged located garden facing the deep blue ocean and its never-ending horizon welcomes couples and their guests for unforgettable alfresco ceremonies.

In this particular celebration, a Wild-Chic asymmetrical floral design by Decorelle, built over the premises lavish hedges created an original, evocative celebration arch. Although following the mauve palette of the inspirational mood board here intense hues of red and fuchsia were added for dramatic purposes.

The clean-lined refined Gio Rodrigues gown fitted the bride flawlessly. The cape she wore over for the ceremony and the delicate silver crown added an impeccable pinch of grace. The groom's posh suit by Gio Rodrigues was the perfect match for the bride's stunning attire.

After the ceremony the couple went to the Monserrate Palace for a photo shoot. This palace and park ensemble in Sintra with its rich decoration of the building, many exotic plants and romantic ruins fit perfectly into the concept of a wedding.

Every detail and sincere happiness of the couple created turned every moment of this day into a fairy tale. It was marvelous!
